BE AWARE OF
Terrain
- Primarily sealed road with good surface quality.
- Winding sections, particularly in the Atherton Tablelands.
- Moderate to significant elevation changes, especially closer to Atherton.
Technical difficulty
- Moderate to high due to the winding roads, elevation changes, and potential for rain and fog with reduced visibility.
- Demands good handling skills and careful navigation, especially on turns and descents.
- Adjust your speed and riding style according to road conditions and weather.
Traffic
- Traffic is generally lighter on this rural route but can increase on weekends and during peak tourist season.
- Take particular care around lookout areas. Other road users will often cross double white lines to get to scenic lookouts, and vehicles can be facing the wrong way when they depart.
- Be aware of slow-moving vehicles, livestock, and wildlife.
Fuel
- Multiple petrol stations are available along the route, so no need to worry about filling up before starting your ride.
Always remember, riders should be familiar with the local traffic laws and road conditions. Also check the weather before every ride, so you can be prepared for all conditions.
