WHY IT'S GREAT
Winding through the Southern Atherton Tablelands, this ride takes in the stunning Wooroonooran National Park, and diverse scenery such as rainforest, cane fields and rolling hills.
Traffic on the route is usually pretty light, making it ideal for intermediate riders. Along the way, you can stop in at a number of secluded waterfalls.
BE AWARE OF
Terrain
- This ride has some winding sections, especially around Millaa Millaa.
- The ride is primarily on sealed roads in good condition, but there are some unsealed sections.
- Around Henrietta Creek, the road is known to get damaged by heavy trucks so ride accordingly.
- The terrain is quite hilly and there’s the potential for wildlife encounters so be aware.
Technical difficulty
- This ride is in the easy to moderate difficulty level, due to its winding roads.
- Good handling skills are recommended for navigating curvy sections.
- Be cautious of wildlife and adjust your speed accordingly.
Traffic
- Traffic on this route is usually fairly light.
- It can increase slightly on weekends and peak tourist seasons.
Fuel
- There is no where to fill up until you reach Millaa Millaa, so fill up in Innisfail before you begin.
