Tips to remember to always buckle up

We all know that correctly fastened seatbelts save lives, here are a few tips to help you:

  • Put your seatbelt on before you start the car. Once leave your driveway, it’s harder to remember to put your belt on, and more dangerous as the car is in motion.
  • Seatbelts should be worn for every journey – even just down to your local shops or on quiet roads. Crashes are usually unexpected and often happen close to home because this is where we drive most frequently.
  • Make sure everyone in your car is safely restrained before moving your vehicle.
  • Don’t just rely on airbags – they do not replace seatbelts. Seatbelts hold you in the correct position to maximise the effectiveness of airbags.
