Rocky learners get on the road to employment

Rockhampton PCYC (Police Citizens Youth Club) is using a StreetSmarts community road safety grant to fund their ‘Learners to Provisionals’ Mentor Program.

Program members receive two paid driving lessons. The first at any time during their learning experience and the second just prior to the practical driving test. By December 2014, 648 hours of learner driver mentor lessons had been logged through the program and eight drivers had successfully gained their licence. The rest of participants are one their way. The program continues to help young drivers get on the road to employment.

StreetSmarts is proud to support this great road safety initiative. If you have a road safety idea of your own why not apply for funding to put it into action? Apply for a StreetSmarts community road safety grant.
