Cape crusaders save tired drivers
The Peninsular Development Road is a key route for travellers in far north Queensland. But rest stop opportunities are few and far between. That’s why Balkanu Cape York Development Corp have upgraded a rest stop that goes above and beyond your regular roadside stop.
The ‘Wunthulpu rest stop’, provides a safe place where the community can stop and revive. Travellers can chill out with a tea or coffee and check out the local history displays. Of course there’s picnic tables and restrooms, but there’s also a range of info on the Cape York region to help visitors plan their journey and even road safety advice to help travellers get there safely.
