Nominations for Queensland Road Safety Awards now open
If someone you know has been involved in activities designed to improve road safety on Queensland roads, why not recognise their efforts and nominate them for this year’s Queensland Road Safety Awards?
The awards, which have been running for 15 years, are a joint initiative of the Centre for Accident Research and Road Safety – Queensland (CARRS-Q) and RACQ.
Community action can make a big difference and the awards are designed to recognise the efforts of individuals and groups who have created practical and positive road safety programs, innovations or initiatives. The awards also help to raise the profile of road safety in Queensland, and encourage greater commitment and support for improving road safety across the whole community.
Nominations can be entered under the following categories:
- Community
- Schools
- Industry and Business
- Innovation
- Local Government
- State Government
- Fleet/Occupational Safety
- Young Person.
- Nominations are open until Wednesday 24 June, with the shortlisted finalists announced in mid-July 2015.
The awards will be presented at a ceremony in Mackay on the morning of Thursday 20 August 2015 as part of Queensland Road Safety Week.
